Hydrogen fuel powered Drone can fly for 2 hours
Drones have been suggested as a solution for everything from package delivery to search and rescue.
But a battery-powered drone can’t stay in the air for long enough to do everything we might ask of it. Now a company called Intelligent Energy has created a light-weight hydrogen fuel cell that can keep a drone airborne for as long as two hours.
The hydrogen and oxygen combine to form water, but the electrons from the hydrogen are diverted to do useful work. The only exhaust from the fuel cell is water vapor. The only drawback is hydrogen fuel is hard to find.
